Got scammed through Uship

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I used Uships services to get some heavy equipment moved .I sent half the money to the shipper when they picked up the equipment .Three weeks later the equipment never showed up .Uship sent out a few emails to the shipper and that was all the help i got from them. They told me to contact the police and report it .The information that was on Uships site for this shipper was false.I don't blame Uship for my money that i lost but they were no help in my situation .I booked through them because I thought it would be the safe route to go but i was wrong.I will not use there services again .Save your money and book your shipping with a reputable company.

Cancellation of contract

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I had contracted for shipment of a motorcycle from Pa. to Co. that I had bought on ebay. It was sent out for bid, and two hours before the close of auction I had not recieved so much as one bid. so I called uship and they said they would contact 10 different carriers and ask for bids. I wanted and enclosed transport, and got 1 bid from a guy with an open transport and one with an enclosed transport. In the bid the carrier promised pickup between 2 dates that had an eleven day window. and the same for delivery. The last day for delivery had arrived and it turns out the bike hadn't even been picked up. I contacted the carrier and was neddless to say pissed. he said There s nothing that will make you happy at this point so he suggested canceling the contract and for me to start the whole process over. I said no, that we had entered into a legal and binding contract and he needed to fullfill it or I would take him to court for any additonal costs and the delay in time. he contacted uship, and they canncelled the contract. meanwhile they held onto my money for 3 weeks, and then didn't even want to give me a full refund. After checking, this kind of thing seems to happen quite often. I will never again do bussiness with uship, as a matter of fact I will do everything I can to sway people from using thier horrible service. Thier customer service is attrocious. and since uship, paypal and ebay are all part of the same big corp. I will never use any of them again.

You've got the connections right; uShip, eBay, and PayPal. It's difficult to point at which has the worst business ethics.

I personally have never had a problem with eBay, but realize many thousands have. PayPal lost at least one class action suit against them for over $10 million, but didn't stop their nefarious behavior.

uShip acts like a broker, claims to be only a matching site, but meddles endlessly in the transactions between shippers and transporters, protecting neither, but taking highest-in-the-market fees from each.

Uship - Security Policy Review from Walnut Creek, California

This is by far the worst shipping company ever! They just allow anyone and everyone to ship items. They dont even veridy if the shipper is DOT Certified. I understand all things dont require it, but the items that do, they needs to be verified at least! They rip people off on their uship fees. Their "support" team is full of ***.can i say scam? They dont take responsibility for their shippers actions. If they dont verify that they dont have dot coverage..then they nees to pay for their error! Complete waste. Freedom of speech i shall say!

Where shipped. By cargo van or pickup.

Dot rules. And regulation.

Doesn't. Apply. Next time ask the carrier. If there dot setup., most carriers.

On here are not that is. Why that do it so cheap

Guest

If they spent a quarter of the time they do in damage control of people's reviews doing the right thing for the people making them money (legitimate carriers brokers and customers) maybe just maybe they would have better reviews. Their customer support team have had no training and if they had then they should go back to elementary school and start over.

Starting with the phone game and how it changes from person to person because not one person in the office gives the same answer... Too much time eating their free lunch and playing games...

FEES HIGH & DECEPTIVELY HIDDEN 59% Fees on $105 Shipment

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Fee Schedule is Deceptively Hidden & Arbitrary. I complained to UShip Customer Support and ask for a fee schedule.

Customer Support told me, "Google UShip Fees and You Will See Fee Schedule". Customer Support could not direct me to a fee schedule listed on the Web Site. Uship Charges Both the Trucker and Receiver. On a $105 Shipment generated $62 in Fees for UShip.

I paid $31 and the Trucker Paid $31. UShip hides these fees until u book & pay then the Fee Appears.

I u use this service call UShip Customer Service to get a FIRM Quote on Fees before listing, negotiating then contracting a shipper.

U ship Trucker walks away with my collector car

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
booked a shipment through U ship to move my collector car. gave load to a u ship approved carrier with 100 % feedback. you ship collected their fee uofront. trucker collected the car and the title from seller and never delivered the car and disappeared with the car. I also paid the trucker $ 1250 half of the shipping fees up front and never received the car or a refund of my shipping fees. All u ship did was suspend the trucker who is now operating under another name and scamming other people. Police are lame too and did not want to do anything because they were too lazy to go to another state and pick up this driver for fraud and conversion.

some of these posts may be false. Not all scammed people are capable of getting satisfactory results at costs less than what they've lost....so why pursue it.

The sheer number and breadth of complaints here against uShip indicate that as a company, they're not doing a bang up job of customer service.

It's also interesting that the complaints are coming from both the service providers on uShip and the shippers, both groups of which have to be registered on uShip to attain a "match", so they're *** off both sides of the equation. Good work.

Grand theft auto is a felony. If this were true it would have been investigated.

This is one of several false reviews posted to this site in order to discredit Uship.

Common sense is all people need to see through the multiple false stories posted here.

UShip sucks!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We couldn't agree with you more. We also had a 3rd business as a transporter, primarily cars and motorcycles.

We put so much time into it, making sure each trip was profitable. UShip has taken that away! The bids are starting ridiculously low! A quality transporter who actually takes pride in his work is not going to move a car over 400 miles for $100.

And if you by chance have a difficult customer, don't count on UShip standing behind you, you are basically on your own. It's too bad really, if properly run, it could have been a great website/business, unfortunately it is being run by greedy desk type people that have likely never transported anything in their lives.

UShip brokers haulers that violate federal transportation Laws

UShip brokers haulers that violate federal transportation Laws
Uship is brokering haulers that are required to have MC/DOT numbers for interstate hauling. When Uship is told about a hauler that is violating federal law their response is "well it's not against Uship policy and we have been the business for 10 years and we should know if it's against Federal law, so go check your facts" Fact is if you are a commercial hauler, haul for monetary gain, and cross state lines you are required to be registered with the DOT, no matter what you are hauling. So if you are thinking of using a hauler on UShip, think again, use professional licensed haulers and save yourself grief. Using a hauler that is not registered through the DOT for interstate hauling could lead to you goods being impounded. Oh, you will get them back but not until you jump through hoops, pay impound fees, etc. And if your goods are damaged, like mine was, see pic, good luck in getting reimbursed, my hauler is just flat out refusing to repair the damage he caused. And you have no where to go.

Don't get scammed by this farce. For any Equipment, Machinery, heavy duty trucks, whether you buy, sell, move, purchase or sell at auction,...it's only legal to transport for hire if the carrier is authorized by the FMCSA, Federally licensed and insured to do so.

If you are in need of heavy duty transport services requiring a lowbed or detachable gooseneck or rollback truck and are looking for a quote, CALL or email Iron Mountain Iron & Equipment, llc (ironmountainironhauling.com ) and speak with me, the owner of the business and have been in this for over 36 years. There will be no bs, no dishonesty, no problems...just good old fashioned friendly conversation with the person who has the experience and knowledge to get things done without any issues.

I agree that uship should get rid of all of the illegal transporters on there website. In my opinion if you don't see a MC or DOT number on the shippers profile don't use them. Legal shippers rates are higher, but they are so they can stay legal and pay for there numbers and insurance.

Guest

You are correct that transporters have to have DOT/MS. On Uship you can click on the transporters profile and it will show their DOT# and then click on it and it will take to the USDOT to verified that are valid. There are a lot that don't and you must have gotten one.

Scammed out of almost $1000.

Updated by user Jul 22, 2014

I forgot to mention that the company representative was foreign and very hard to understand.

Original review Jul 22, 2014
Recently my boyfriend and I were looking into adopting a husky. So we found an ad on oodle.com about 12 weeks old husky pups for sale. I contacted the seller and he sent me pictures of all of the husky puppies and I told him which one I was interested in. And then he told me that he is no longer located in the area stated on the oodle ad. And that he relocated to Houston, TX. He said that he could get the puppy to me through uship. So he was messaging me the whole time he was getting everything squared away at the uship place. Then I get contacted by uship saying that I needed to purchase a reloadit card pack with the $350 needed to deliver the dog to me. So I purchased the pack, sent him the code. And a few hours later he called saying that there was an issue with the Crate the seller provided and that I would have to pay $600 for a approved one. We negotiated the price down to $500. The seller paid $200 and I paid $300. Both had to be on reloadit card packs and sent to the company. So we went through with that and uship sent me a confirmation email stating the time that puppy would be at my house in the morning. The puppy was supposed to be here at 8 am, 12pm rolls around still haven't gotten anything. So the company contacts me saying that there was an issue in the Arkansas airport and that I would need to purchase insurance for the puppy. Like the *** I am, my boyfriend and I gathered up $300 and the seller gave in another $100. Again, both on reloadit packs. All of the card packs had to be paid for in CASH. So uship said everything was fine now and that the dog would be at my location soon. Then they contacted me saying that they had to give the dog 2 apparently " life saving vaccines" that was going to cost me another $300. I finally looked online for reviews of this place. (Which I should have done before any of this, I was just too excited about finally getting my dream dog to think logically.)and I told the company that they will be receiving no more money from me. Uship is a scam. And I'm more than positive oodle is too. All of the sellers that contacted me about husky pups they had all had very very similar replies. Please do not make the same mistake I made, do NOT fall for the cruel scam. No one should get their hopes up for a new edition to their family and be let down like this. Local police told me that I would have to take this to civil court. In total we lost a little over $1000. And now I no longer have my birthday present that my boyfriend and I were so excited about receiving. Please. Don't. Fall. For. this.'

We are going threw this now. But My Mom sent the 170 plus money to send it threw western union.

total of 186.00 and now nothing they sent an email about the insurance thing still nothing I just want a refund but I doubt we will get it.

Guest

This is a scam. UShip is not involved with this.

It's scammers who use the company's name. Why would anyone want to adopt an animal that they have never seen?

You don't know what kind of health problems it will have. Either go to a local breeder or shelter.

this has happened to me this weekend about a gsd puppy, it has broken my heart.

You need to speak with someone who has used the site from the other end that knows of their hiding their outrages fees in the transporters fees. It has become intolerable for legiteament haulers to do business with these people.

If you get too dependant on these people and your name is attached to them they will eventually bankrupt you. I mean good decent honest transporters are removed eventually from the site for mentioning things involved. It does not matter how low the deal is Uship rips the customer without them being aware of it. They are rude and unconcerned with any problem that happens.

I have an email from them that actually states that if their customers were to realize the fees that are hidden in the transporters costs they would become disgruntled and not list with

them.

Who operates a business without being open about the costs up front and could be considered honest? NOBODY!!!!

CAN WE SAY RIP OFF?

Are these companies for real? In the last month or so, I have asked for bids for two totally different types of transport. One was a puppy, and the latest was a motorhome. The only contact I got was, "what is your budget" I was under the impression that I was asking for a bid, NOT HOW *** I AM. When questioned the clown told me around $1000 to put a puppy in a crate on the passenger seat, got that one done by a pro pet transport for $225, with FDA permits. Now I need to transport a motorhome less than 90 miles with no time frame, and this clown bids $1400, local pro equipment transport with lowboy, is more than happy to do it for just under $400. I'm going on line to tell people to be ware of anyone hooked up with RIP OFF USHIP, good luck! RIP OFF COMPANY! RIP OFF *** ARTIST! just my opinion!

USHIP Policy says Transporters can not post warnings i.e. illegal shippers on their site

Be a 100% legal Transportation Company with both MC and USDOT #'s I noticed an illegal wannabe carrier drop his rate over $300 just to get the job. I posted that "there are illegal carriers on UShip" and in fact there are. I notified the shipper his freight was in jeopardy if the wannabe carrier got stopped or had an accident.

I was then "Red Flagged" for being honest and straight forward with a potential customer.

And just because UShip call themselves "a Martkeplace" does not mean they're not brokers, it's UShip playing games with with words and the Federal Government and I'd like to see sooner rather than later someone do something about it before one of the wannabe carriers kills themselves or some innocent person.

You must not have gotten the bid to cry about something you have no support of proving as I believe Uship under the tsp profile says the tsp can choose to provide the dot and mc upon request. Merely because some of us choose to not list our info certainly does not mean we are illegal. And a lot of tsps like you try to make astronomical profits off one shipment try doing a little work instead of overcharging the shipper.

Puppy scam Uship vanilla re-load card

In trying to help my father in law get a new puppy for my mother in law, we have come across a similar situation. The guy, Raymond Fisher, is from Delaware and says he'll send us two tea cup yorkies for the cost of shipping $380. Then we get an email from Uship (supposedly). It doesn't look like a professional website correspondence to me. The email contains directions for a Vanilla Re-load Card, images, and even locations near my address to find and buy the cards. Since the email looked strange and non-professional, I looked up and saw all of these similar situations. The guy my father in law talked to had lost his wife, so he cannot look at the dogs anymore. Then I thought it was weird that he wanted monthly update pictures if he couldn't bear to look at them. The ages of the puppies is also similar to other stories I found. All are around 11weeks old. The guy sending the puppies seems the same as well. Only texting or email and will not talk to anyone in the phone. I looked his name up in the white pages and no one lives in Georgetown Delaware with his name. End result: we will not be continuing with this transaction. My mother in law just lost her baby Sassy (her lovey shitzsu) and I will not put her through this.

it is illegal to ship pups-cats as pets. By law they have to be handed of in person. Animals for breeding can be shipped.

We had the same thing happen with 2 german Shepards from Boston. The guy claimed he was a disabled veteran with a traecheotony and couldn't speak.

We spent the $800 then waited 2 hours for the confirmation code.

It contained further instructions that we needed to rent a thermal dog cage to ship them $1000 depost. We didn't do that but our $ was long gone by then.
