Hello, I am here to address the confusion from the original poster. uShip is a website that allows customers that are in need of shipping services to connect with transportation companies that can deliver their items.

It is completely free for a customer to post a listing of their shipment, and free for Service Providers to search for loads they can accommodate.

Charges are only made upon booking a shipment, and the payment process is clearly stated in the User Agreement. The total amount to be payed and received is shown while placing and before accepting a bid.

There should be no reason for a customer or Service Provider to not understand payment, unless they chose to ignore the details during the booking process and the terms within our User Agreement. If anybody is still confused after reading this information, then they are welcome to contact Member Support.

Uship sold my email and personal information

Uship sold my email and personal information without telling me. I am seeking legal council to see why they did sell it even though they state that they don't. I guess the other poster on here is correct that they lie. I put my trust into uship and look what it cost me: identity theaf. I really screwed now and can't wait for my lawyers to notify uship of their wrongdoing. These are my 2 cents worth as it's not a good company to deal with. uship sucks and should not even be allowed to be online. We are small truck owner's trying to make a living and they rob us dry!!!

uShip is a public website, so all information that is publicly posted is also accessible through web searches, and uShip does not have control over this. This is one of the reasons why we do not allow contact information to be posted on the site.

As a matter of policy, we do not sell, rent or share any of your personal information, including your email address, to third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent. However, the following describes some of the ways that your personal information may be disclosed in the normal scope of business to provide our services.

Your uShip username is displayed throughout the site and is therefore available to the public. All of your activities on the site will be identifiable to your username. Other people can see your bids, shipments you have listed, your feedback rating and associated comments, your postings on the site, and so on. Therefore, if you associate your name with your username, the people you have revealed your name to will be able to personally identify your uShip activities.

If you have a currently booked shipment, then your contact information is privately exchanged with the other party to help complete the shipment. Further, we may send out notices to you or other community members regarding suspicious activity or policy violations on the site.

Uship is not considered a Broker because they do not place the listings, they do not communicate between the shipper and the service provider. They provide the means but do not actually broker the loads.

Bull *** uship in Manny times have called me in behalf of the customer and have canceled my jobs also uship is a BROKER but with NO LIC.

To address the concerns in this post, please review uShip's terms and conditions stated within the User Agreement. In it we clearly state our policies and role in the shipment process.

We are simply a neutral venue for shipping customers to connect and enter into agreements with Service Providers. uShip is not a broker because we do not contract carriers, endorse, or select them for shipping customers. Instead, we empower the shipping customer to use their best judgment when selecting a Service Provider to meet their shipping needs.

The purpose for our Safe Shipping Guide, available on the site, is to educate our customers to make more informed decisions before accepting a provider's service. Visit Member Support to read our FAQs and/or submit your questions.

uShip representative here. I wanted to clear up some confusion on this post.

uShip is NOT the following: transportation company, freight forwarder, or broker. Instead, uShip is a neutral venue that allows shipping customers to create listings of the items in need of delivery. In turn, actual transportation companies can then place bids, or in other words quotes, of what it will cost to deliver those shipments. To clarify, uShip does not employ carriers nor endorses or selects Service Providers for a customer's shipment.

We are simply an online platform for shipping customers to connect with Service Providers, and it is up to each party to evaluate profiles, communication on the site, etc. before booking a shipment with the people they chose.

If a transportation company registers an account, then they choose to abide by the terms and conditions stated in the User Agreement. This includes that they are only able to bid on items they are legally able to haul.

Thus, uShip does not screen any Service Providers, as clearly stated in our User Agreement.

Please review our User Agreement, specifically section 1.

However, we encourage our users to use the resources and tips in our Safe Shipping Guide available for free on the site. This guide is meant to educate users on how to verify credentials so they can make better, more informed decisions about their shipments.

Provider never picked up merchandise and Uship didn't return deposit

On July 31st uship (pick up server Peggy Davenport) was suppposed to pick up a dining room table and 6 chairs between 9 and 11 p.m. We were out of town, and we said we would not be there until 8 p.m. They said they came at 6p.m. but we were not at home. We emailed the Peggy Davenport and rescheduled for August 7th between 9-11 am and they did not come or call again, even though we waited all day. Uship denied our complaint, has not returned our deposit. They are not reliable or trustworthy.

Just because you got a bad provider dosn't mean we are all bad. Did you check out this person profile or feedback before you accepted their bid or did you just take it because they where the cheapest.

Don't know what to tell you about getting your money back because I've never had that problem I've got 100% good feedback. Sounds like you paid for what you got cheap service.Dosn't always pay to be cheap hire a good service provider.

uShip.com is an online shipping marketplace. This online platform allows transportation companies to find loads posted by customers.

It uses a reverse auction-style bidding process, where the Transportation Service Providers are competing against one another to try and win a customer's business. Every Service Provider has a profile where they can upload their company description and photos. Most importantly ratings and written feedback from their customers for past shipments are logged on to their profile for future customers to view.

We encourage our customers to verify credentials and ask Service Provider's questions to minimize any confusion.

Effective communication is key.

The Safe Shipping Guide is also available to educate users in making better decisions. Please contact Member Support with any concerns.

Uship in Washington, District Of Columbia - 3 weeks to get reimbursed

Once you accept a bid on uShip, they wash their hands of you. They don't answer emails. It took the intervention of the State Police for me to get my rather large deposit back from the company who bid on my job. The mover was unprofessional, rarely returned phone calls, never gave the proper paper work, and lied to me for 3 weeks as to where my money was. I will never recommend uShip or the mover who tried to steal my money to anyone. They are liars and cheats and care nothing about doing a good job. Don't do business with uShip!
