Uship - Shipper Stole Family Heirloom
Hired a shipper through uShip.com to move an antique china cabinet from Eugene Oregon to Humble Texas. The china cabinet was picked up, but then the shipper missed three separate dates for delivery.
Then they were "permanently suspended" from the uShip website, and now they do not return calls or emails and my china cabinet has never been delivered. uShip refuses to provide me with the shippers address, as they claim that the shippers BUSINESS ADDRESS is somehow protected confidential information which they can only disclose if they are served a subpoena. They suggested they would return my fee LESS their commission!? Commission on a theft?
Nobody knows where my china cabinet is or who has it. This was bought by my great grandfather and been in the family near a hundred years, but its gone now?! And uShip denies ANY responsibility because THEY didn't steal it, they only enabled and facilitated its theft by not screening the shippers they allow to register on their site who use uShip's reputation to appear legitimate.
The shipper was not registered with the Dept of Transportation, a fact which uShip KNEW but allowed them to register anyway. They are grossly negligent in referring shippers to their customers, and ought to be sued.
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Monetary Loss: $10000.
Preferred solution: Identify the shipper, contact the police and investigate!.
Uship Pros: Never use uship.
Uship Cons: Being scammed.
