UShip is a scam www.uship.com

As I posted a shipment on uship I was wondering if this would save me money on shipping. I placed a shipment up for bid and got lots of offers that were about 30% higher than I currently pay for the same shipment. The people who bid on these shipments have to inflate there prices because about 10 to 15% of what the winning bid is goes right into Uships bank account. Here is an example. When a shipper bids on your shipment. There is a button that says calulate cost to me. They put in the amount of money to be paid to them and it will tell the you need to bid this amount to get the desired amount you put in. So if a shipper needs $1000.00 to ship you product the shipping calculator tells them thay must put in $1185.30 to get the $1000.00 DO NOT USE USE uShip. Pick up you phone and call a carrier.

Sounds more like someone has a personal ax to grind, rather than a legitimate complaint.

uShip.com is an online shipping marketplace. Our web service is a completely optional way for shipping customers and transportation companies to meet and enter into agreements to have a shipment delivered.

It is a shipping customer's and Service Provider's decision to use this service, and by no means are forced to use uShip. However, if any user decides to utilize this online platform, then they choose to abide by the terms and conditions clearly stated in the User Agreement.

As any other profitable business, services come at a charge. Now it is completely free to list a shipment and receive bids, or quotes, of what it would cost to deliver the shipment.

Similarly, it is also free for a carrier on the site to search for loads they could potentially service. If both parties come to an agreement to have a shipment delivered, then they can proceed to book that shipment. The payment process is clearly stated to each user as well as in our User Agreement.

There are NO HIDDEN FEES. The total amount to be payed and received is always available to each user before accepting and placing a bid.

If there are ever any questions or concerns involving payment or anything at all about how the site works, then our users are welcome to contact Member Support.

UShip is not you best bet

before you post you shipment. Let us tell you as a large shipping company that you are about to pay more for your shipment for using Uship than if you would have paid. Uship collects 10% of the bid and puts it into there bank account. We just place a bid for $4000.00 for a full truckload. Uship kept almost $400.00 which the customer paid to them. We the shipping company that is doing the shipment will never see that money. We could have done this customers shipment for $3600.00 if they would have put forth the effort to just search trucking companies. So Uship made $400.00 off just one shipment. Now think of the thousands of shippers per day. The amount uship makes per month is over 1 million dollars. Just off of the shipment we win the bids on is over $10,000 per month so buyer beware

uShip.com is an online marketplace that offers customers in need of shipping services an easy way to connect with transportation companies all in one place. Our web service is a completely optional way for shipping customers and transportation companies to meet and enter into agreements to have a shipment delivered. It is a user's decision, both Service Provider and shipping customer, to utilize this service. By no means is any party forced to use uShip as their only shipping solution. If any user decides to try our online platform, then they choose to abide by the terms and conditions clearly stated in the User Agreement.

As any other profitable business, services come at a charge. Service Providers can read our tiered fee schedule in the User Agreement, which is not a flat fee but based on the commodity of the shipment and total bid price. Now it is completely free to list a shipment and receive bids of what it would cost to deliver the shipment. Similarly, it is also free for a transporter on the site to search for loads they could potentially service. If both parties come to an agreement to have a shipment delivered, then they can proceed to book that shipment. The payment process is clearly stated to each user as well as in our User Agreement. There are NO HIDDEN FEES. The total amount to be payed and received is available to each user before accepting and while placing a bid.

The customer has the potential to save money than other methods of acquiring shipping services because of the nature of the competitive marketplace. On the other hand, the Service Provider has the opportunity to utilize empty space to make ADDITIONAL money for booking another shipment that happens to be along the same route as one of their previously booked shipments (whether or not that initial shipment was booked on uShip).

In the end, it is your decision to evaluate whether you want to transact business off of shipments you are able to find using the world's largest online shipping marketplace.

UShip.com is a SCAM! DISHONEST!

I was a transporter on uShip.com. After 3 months of LEGAL transporting, uShip suspended my account for "Unauthorized communication" with a potential customer; I let the boat customer know that I carried cargo insurance and that any other transporter who did not, left the boat owner liable for any loss or damage, even if the transporter had "full coverage" insurance on their vehicle... Also, I let another customer know that USHIP CHARGES A FEE FOR THEM TO USE THEIR SERVICE. Bad boy! They are dishonest, unreliable, unaccountable and outright deceptive to anyone who works with them, uses their transporters, or works for them...

To the original poster, you were red flagged because your comment was not solely related to the services you offer, but rather was targeted at other Service Providers.

Any content you post must be related to your services and your bid and cannot be directed at anyone else. For instance, instead of stating what other Service Providers may or may not have and so forth, you could state what service you can offer to the shipping customer. It's important to always promote what YOU can offer and what the customer can gain by accepting your bid. Making claims about other bidders to scare a customer, whether true of false, is not acceptable communication on the site.

In regards to fees for using the site, the payment process is clearly stated in our User Agreement upon registering an account and throughout the bidding and booking process. There should be no surprise, and our concern is not hiding the fact that Service Providers pay a fee for every matched shipment. Instead our concern is to keep the payment process clear. Understand that the shipping customer pays an Auction Service Fee for accepting a bid, which is clearly stated before booking as the total. We do not want the customer to get confused with the Service Provider's match fees, as they are two separate charges.

It is important to keep this process clear, which is why we restrict inaccurate information to be given on the Q&A boards, within Bid Details, etc.. If a shipping customer asks about the price-breakdown of your costs, just make sure to be clear that the uShip transaction fees are yours to pay - not theirs. That price is included in your bid so that they understand the total cost of their shipment.

Hello,

We apologize if you were not able to log into the site. We may have been updating one of our servers at the time. We also suggest that you update your browser to the latest version of Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, or Internet Explorer to minimize receiving errors.

If you received a red flag, then that means one of your statements within the Q&A board or Bid Details was found to be in violation of the User Agreement. Our intention is not to hide the fact that Service Providers pay a fee for every matched shipment, but rather to minimize confusion for the shipping customer. Keep in mind that the customer may pay an Auction Service Fee upon accepting a bid, depending upon the commodity being shipped. We do not want shipping customers to confuse your match fee with their charge. If you are going to breakdown your bid, then make sure to state that each portion (including YOUR uShip fee) is part of your all-inclusive bid.

If you were suspended for having 3 red flags within a 60 day period, then you would no longer be able to place bids to book new shipments. However, an account suspension does not prevent you from logging into your account to complete your currently booked shipments. Furthermore, you are welcome to petition to have your account reinstated for a flag suspension. When in doubt, read our FAQs on the site and contact Member Support.

Uship supports shippers and screws consumers

I agreed with the shipper to do the job. I paid the deposit. The shipper, Shawn Turner of recovering, strung us along for 2 months, returning one out of 10 calls, saying he "forgot" to do the job, etc. It was clear he wasn't responsible enough to do the job, so we told him we wanted to cancel. He said he would return the deposit after we cancelled with uship . Once we cancelled, of course he never returned our $600. Uship cannot do anything not even freeze his account. They are completely useless. They claim to be "neutral" yet they do not support consumers at all. They had never advised us to get a contract, numbers, etc. I assumed with the huge amount we paid uship ($160) they would be responsible to at least freeze the shipper's account if they steal money. Avoid them at all costs.

Uship does freeze service providers' account if the customer complains. They do so until the problem is resolved.

I've had it happen.

I don't know why they didn't help you out that way. Be a thorn in their side until they do.
